For over twelve years,my pets were on automatic pilot. I did own a few books such as Pitcairn etc,but hardly ever ever had a need to open it. I didn't bother to learn about pet health since they were healthy. Last year, my newly adopted Snowball turned out to be the sweetest lemon in the world. The quest began for keeping him out of harm's way. Snow had had two prolapsed colons before he was one year old and two major surgeries to correct them. Currently he is on petromalt as a lubricant and recently Bryonia-yes,a homeopathic remedy which might be working, and occasionally psyllium. My apartment now gets cleaned with vinegar,borax,baking soda,alcohol and no bleach,ammonia or other harmful products. Hammy had already had bladder surgery for stones and yeast infections in his ears. Morgy was diagnosed with heart problems and put on Enacard which later became substituted by Vasotec(for humans and much cheaper than Enacard) Then last May,Morgy started limping. In November of 1999, Morgy was diagnosed with bone cancer. Because of his heart condition and age-my vet opted for pain treatment-no amputation or chemo-just Rimadyl- As a result,the search began to learn as much as possible about the dreaded disease and to find alternative methods to help his immune system and provide him with as good a quality of life as possible. There are many herbal and nutritional links on this site which provide suggestions to help their little bodies fight back. There will be a growing number of homeopathic links also. After using Rescue Remedy on my doggies and Arnica on me, and reading that over 30percent of French traditional doctors use homeopathic products in their practice, I realized that homeopathy has gotten rotten press in the States.
